DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL 2021 LIVE AT BROOKLYN’S 440 GALLERY

440 Gallery is an artist-run space in Park Slope, Brooklyn, dedicated to the creation, exhibition and sale of a wide range of work. The artist members range from emerging to mid-career, and practice in a broad spectrum of styles and media including: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, assemblage, and installation. Since 2005, the gallery has facilitated a lively cultural exchange within its Brooklyn neighborhood, and the artistic community at large.

Dark Night of the Soul is MIDHEAVEN Network’s annual Solstice Festival of art, music and crucial conversations to explore and understand the shadow, where all possibility (including rebirth) originates.

The second annual staging of this yearly ritual will broadcast live from within 440 Gallery’s 17th Annual Small Works Show, curated by George Del Barrio.

Featuring a special live musical set by Bandit Lu, a special telepresence installation séance by Rebecca Irby + Amy Williams, and the broadcast premiere of the first-ever Small Performances in the gallery’s two-decade history, this cleansing dive into the storied dark returns to honor the cosmic revolutions that frame all of our journeys.

MIDHEAVEN NETWORK is a brave, generative space of healing and for the building — not “rebuilding” — of a fully inclusive society. MIDHEAVEN EXISTS IN PARADOX: FROM MANY, ONE.

THROUGH live arts programming from A GLOBAL phalanx OF performance, visual art, social justice, human development and cinema/ digital/ VR voyagers, MIDHEAVEN will ADVANCE COURAGEOUS, loving & possibility-driven VISIONS to the world.
