As even CBS News observed in February 2020, establishment narratives of Black history (which are at the very core of American history) are a mirror for the legacy of white supremacy — we’ll get to that, in April — and they cannot speak to the truth and beauty of BLACK HOPE AND FUTURES. For our first annual Black History Month broadcast, MIDHEAVEN Network proudly presents “Black Hope & Futures — JOY, RESILIENCE”, a daylong cuddle with Black & Brown pathfinders in domestic policy, international activism and urban food sovereignty including Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins (Founder & Executive Director, Women of Color Advancing Peace & Security | WCAPS), Sun Ra (legendary jazz composer and cosmic bandleader, musician & poet), Vannary Kong (Vice President & Co-Founder, The World is Watching - BLM International), Alexis & Franklyn Mena (Co-Founders, Universe City) with more leading art/ social justice/ human development curanderas, wizards and warriors to be announced. All will be luminous examples of Black history in action HERE and NOW, broadcast live to the world on MIDHEAVEN Network.
